Today, we may popularly situate the jukebox image with the '50's and remember the machine's familiar appearance in television series like "Happy Days." The 'Fonz' possessed powers to start and stop the jukebox with a playful punch on the side, reinforcing his undeniable cool-factor. But by this decade the Jukebox was not singing the blues. Teens in soda shops and bowling alleys listened now listened to rock and roll.
The jukebox came to be not only a background machine for making music but emerged as a visible character all its own. The above image shows the romantic lure of the jukebox and the important task of selecting the right song for the right moon (and the right girl).
